African Dance Classes

March 19, 2009

Each week on Tuesday nights ( on the Tuesdays when Ra is home in Oamaru ) we have African dance practice led by Ra’s students  8 pm to 9.15 pm at Deaf Hall 232a Armagh Street, near the corner of Madras and Armagh St in central Christchurch.

Wear comfortable clothes and bring a friend. No previous dance experience needed, all levels welcome. Gold coin donation. Accompanied by live drumming.

This is Ra, an amazingly talented African dancer. She teaches African dance in Oamaru, Dunedin, and Christchurch. Send me an email to find out when her next class is happening here in Christchurch. Ra has a website www.korudance.com

Hi there,
My name is Briar and I am a kiwi that lives in Melbourne Australia. I am currently back in Chch for a few weeks after coming back from my second trip to Ghana West Africa. I have been doing West African dance for many years and some teaching too. I am really keen to meet up with anyone in Chch who is as excited about African dance and drumming as me. I would love to meet up with you, maybe have a coffee and share some stories. Let me know. Thanks heaps. B
