People ask me how many years I have been drumming.
Even though 19 years seems like a long time, the number doesn’t tell the whole story. I took 2-3 years off while living on Maui. And I have been working full time for all those years.
I think a better way to look at the question, “how long have you been drumming” is to keep track of the number of hours that someone actually has their hands playing on a drum. This would be similar to an airplane pilot and the way their flight times are recorded. Instead of logging 500 hours of flying an airplane, a drummer would have X number of hours playing a drum.

Nineteen years! Unbelievable! I remember the first night you ever drummed. I sat on the floor and felt the vibrations and watched as you and Ben joined the group drumming. Now I can almost conjure up the feeling I had then because it was so powerful. I love that you have such a passion for drumming. Great website. Mom
